DEDICATION OF THE MARIAN SCHOOL FOR CONTEMPLATIVE ARTS (OHR)
All inspired artists follow a calling, their intuition and their visions that seem to come from a greater source than their own imagination and that are time transcending - into the past as well as into the future, and often they are the visionaries and pioneers for change.
At the Marian School for Contemplative Arts we surrender our gifts and skills and visions to the service of God selflessly to His authority and to the guidance of the Holy Spirit alone.
Only if we surrender our ego, our self to God and understand that the gifts and abilities that we seem to be able to command are bestowed upon us by God will we be able to express the truth fully. We return to the purest source of all of Creation, the Infinite Light of El Shaddai. It is a baptism of fire every time we have finished a piece of work, be it a painting, a poem, a dance, a musical composition, a design coming to life out of fabric, a cathedral or church, a building dedicated to holy service and we offer it before God to ask for His approval and for His merciful and graceful acceptance.
I can hear - not only - the cynics provocatively grinning and saying: 'How restrictive is that. Where is your artistic freedom? Where is the freedom of individual expression?'
I live by the principle and in the wonderful awareness that only God gives and God takes our gifts. He wants us to know all aspects and facets of our gifts. If we dedicate the process and the result of our work to God, we can be certain that we devote all our work
to love, understanding, and to raising the vibrations of mankind and to bring light into darkness through always coming to the bottom of the truth.
The truth that is baptised by fire will always shine brightly and will burn impurity and illusionary rifts away. Our God-given gifts
are bringing peace, harmony and love to those, who come into contact with our work. Truth also can upset and unsettle us, if we are not prepared to face the music of its consequences. Sometimes the truth demands drastic and quick life changes, and we are
not always prepared and ready to make these steps, when the truth demands it.
Or we are being given a vision, an insight that we express at first in a creative way through a poem, a painting, a song - and we gradually grow into the deeper layers of its meaning. Art inspired by God is always multi-layered and multi-faceted and it opens the heart and soul to let it breathe and it also allows us to grow into its understanding. It is inspired by love and by the Infinite Light and brings us every time to our limits, so that we can grow beyond our limitations and sometimes even our wildest imaginations, when suddenly a floodgate of love and peace is opened in us.
Sacred Art inspires, nurtures, and is building bridges to past, present and future in a healing way. It allows us a deep insight into the timelessness of God's creation. The conflicts and sources of suffering that man has gone through over millennia have always been the same man-made ones, when we have not respected the One God as our source of creation and for all living things.
Only when we submit to His love will we be truly alive in our work as we transcend the truth and the origin of all goodness and love and of His Infinite Light. It seems to me that from Christ's earliest humble beginnings to present day the attitude of those, who are not clearly committed to serving God's principle of love are equally lost in confusion and distraction and destructive patterns.
When we surrender ourselves to God and follow on the path of His only Son, whom He has given to us to lead us to the highest vibration of love and understanding in the Infinite LIght, then we will be given total freedom of expression and a multitude of ways to express ourselves with ease as the truth is always invisible to the eye of the non-believer and only reveals itself with the degree of commitment and acceptance of responsibility to protect and nurture it for the sake of all of mankind. It is an act and expression of thanksgiving and kindness to offer our work selflessly to God. And what greater way to praise God is there than to thank Him with the fruits of our inspiration that He gave us.
I pray that all our work in the Marian School may be pleasing to El Shaddai, Jeja, Jehovah and to Our God Emmanuel, so that through our work we can help in the manifestation of the heavenly kingdom on earth. We dedicate our gifts to the holy truth that is always shining in the clarity, brightness and love of the Infinite Light of Our Lord and King Jesus Christ.
