Holy Rose Garden - Little Thoughts from God's Meadow: Holy Orders
by Mother Eliora

Holy Orders are God's wonderful gift to all, who have accepted His calling and who are preparing or are ready to give their vows to serve God in Christ's spiritual church. We serve Him either in voluntary blessed celibacy or in holy matrimony, accordingly to God's will. St Paul formulated it in  1 Timothy 3:2, 12, and Titus 1:6
and John Donne preached extensively on the subject, too, and lived his words. It is wonderful to be able to draw on God's love that He perfected in His beloved Son, His Most Precious Holy Rose, through sinlessness and perpetual holiness and sainthood. Whenever we are anxious, doubting or hesitant in going the next step we need only ever to listen to Jesus' voice and we will know, where to go. There is no real crossroad, as Christ's path is always clear - but most of the time we must follow His voice blindly without seeing, where His path is leading us, as He grounds us with every single step. His living word manifests in us, when we pass through every single gate leading ever closer home to God by serving His wishes and commandments only that we hear in our hearts. We must listen and act upon His instructions no matter the cost as God only ever entrusts us as much as He knows we are able to carry as our cross. In religious life we are asked to go even more extra-miles than others, and we must lead by example and live a holy life in the world, which is not exactly easy in the global Sodom and Gomorrha of our days but
Jesus is with us every moment of our lives and makes sure we stay pure and are not being stabbed in the back by God's enemies' knives, as He sees all and hears all and takes everybody up on their responsibility - as we are His beloved holy family.

Vestments and habits of the religious are of highly symbolic significance but they must also not become tools of pride and enforced authority. Christ was robbed of all His clothes in the end, all dignity was taken from Him, and we must from all people detach ourselves from any vanity but put on our clothes with utmost humility and with a heart that serves God and His children selflessly. When we are known in our neighbourhood as 'the nun' or as 'Father' even in plain clothes, then we have achieved for a moment in time that those with eyes to see and ears to hear have recognized that we try our best to lead a holy life. A habit or vestment filled with a proud or corrupted heart is blasphemy, and so, we leave it to our brothers and sisters to serve God with the unique habit of the Order of the Holy Rose or just on special occasions as we must radiate God's love and light foremost - that is our garment. And with a silent smile or sympathy and understanding in our eyes we are dressed perfectly at all times to be recognized silently in the dark as God's little light, and that is His true might.

God bless you!

Holy Rose Garden - Little Thoughts from God's Meadow: Sacrament of Holy Matrimony

John Donne lived his words about marriage and the deep love that he shared with his wife Anne lasted beyond death. He regarded holy matrimony as a sacred living agreement between God and the two souls, whom He has joined in heaven and who become one in flesh before Him through this beautiful sacrament. In holy matrimony these two souls worship each other with their bodies and become together espoused to Christ in His church, as they lead by example a holy life as husband and wife, rooted in the sacraments and by the grace of God are being entrusted children of their own to raise them as angels on earth in this marriage. He reminded the church of God's commandment to raise as many children as holy children as possible. To be fruitful and to multiply means to offer to God one's selfless gift of parenthood, and to shower His love upon one's children and bring them up to His glory. This is by all means a very daunting task even in the best of times as the responsibility and desire to always make the right decisions on behalf of another life that belongs to God is constantly on our conscience. Holy matrimony is the most beautiful gift of God to man as it is encompassing all His ways of holiness, if we take up His offer to be joined together by Him in the presence of all of heaven and to radiate His light as two in one. Often we confuse the emotions of falling in love with the true love that God gives us for our one and only spouse. Emotions are short-lived but true love has inscribed only purity and wants the highest good of the soul God joins us with. If we live in holy voluntary celibacy we are wrapped in the mystery of listening to Jesus' voice, who leads us to meet our spouse in the unseen worlds before we become one in flesh and we are being given the chance to get to know each other in a sacred room in God's mansion, so that we can avoid traps and challenges that the world throws at us and resolve all worries, anxieties and doubts we might feel. As men and women, who try to lead a holy life and have given vows, we must even marry the one spouse, God joins us with as He has known us even before we entered our mother's womb and He also knows, what and when it is best for us to live in celibacy or in holy matrimony.

Blessed be Jesus Christ. Blessed be His Holy Name. Blessed be His Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. Blessed be all, who espouse themselves as husband and wife as one to His spiritual body as His bride, which is His church.

God bless you!

Holy Rose Garden - Little Thoughts from God's Meadow: The Holy Eucharist

'O God, who have left us in a most wonderful Sacrament the memorial of thy Passion, grant, we beseech thee that by living in the sacred mystery of thy body and blood we shall always experience the effects of thy redemption.'

This prayer is the gate to the mystery of God's love that unfolds in the most selfless sacrifice of His beloved Son and Our Lord and King and God Jesus Christ. When we partake from His blessed bread and wine we will be part of His mystery and thus our hearts and souls are united with the body of Christ, His spiritual church that is His bride. Everybody, who surrenders to God in utmost obedience and humility is being led by Christ to the right discernment of their unique calling in either voluntary celibacy or in holy matrimony. When we listen to His voice and abide by His wishes and commands we cannot go wrong, even if the rest of the world thinks we have lost our marbles. God always sees us through safely on our journey, when we travel evermore deeply inside ourselves. And it is Jesus, who is there for us at the end of every tunnel to receive us with our contrite heart and tears of repentance - we must always forgive and love and pray for even our worst enemies as Christ will put all wrong right in the end, and forgiveness is the key to the last gate to heaven. We need to believe in blind faith and trust, as Christ's mystery is more miraculous than any man can comprehend, and be part of His living word is for our souls a must.

Holy Rose Garden - Little Thoughts from God's meadow

The sanctity of  confession brings complete healing, and repentance and doing penance with grace and in humility are the fertilizers to let our souls blossom in ever greater beauty that lets even the greatest reformed sinner shine in God's greatness and selfless love. Only God can make us whole, and Jesus shows us the way to fry freely into heaven like a dove - and you can always tell a heart that is pure as it is also visible in the smile of a loving face, which is for ailments God's most precious cure.

[Order of the Holy Rose] A little early thought on Lent in Advent

With all the shelves already filled in the supermarkets again with seasonal sweets and cakes that are not yet meant to be there at all
it might be a good thought to refuse buying them and return to a period of voluntary fasting and penitence of a second Lent in Advent
as, after all, the Holy Family did not exactly feast in Advent before and not even on Christ's birth and neither are most of mankind able
to even receive their daily bread. Enough reason to be humble and live in thanksgiving through Our Lord's gifts to us alone, which we receive by God's mercy as long as we are still their recipients. As I hear so often recently - 'life is too short'..., giving people an excuse for excesses rather than for getting nourished in one's soul through Christ's living word, of which we are part, too, if we only care to be.
